At the recently held QuiTE Awards hosted by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT), UWI-ROYTEC captured the 1st prize in the category: Excellence for an Established Quality Management System (QMS).

Having emerged as first place winners among tertiary institutions in 2013 and 2014, and second place overall in 2015, UWI-ROYTEC was very pleased to earn this distinctive accolade once again.

Ms. Wendy Augustus, Executive Director, received The ACTT award and attributed UWI-ROYTEC's accomplishments for excellence in quality assurance to "the high level of commitment demonstrated by the Board of Directors, students, staff, faculty, partners, alumni and the Student Council who continue to work tirelessly to sustain a culture of quality at UWI-ROYTEC".

The UWI-ROYTEC's QMS assures stakeholders that appropriate quality management systems are in place to ensure academic quality, administrative effectiveness and service quality. During the last academic year, UWI-ROYTEC has made significant investments in the implementation of additional quality management systems to support Online Distance Learning (ODL) and policies governing the use of Open Education Resources which are considered innovations in tertiary education.

UWI-ROYTEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
