Our flexible class schedules allow students to combine day, evening and weekend classes and where appropriate, online learning. Students also benefit from individual Consultations which offers personal support for each course. We also offer a three-semester calendar which enables students to conveniently choose their courses and complete their programme of study in the most convenient way.
Our faculty appointments are selected from the most qualified and experienced professionals with years of experience, research, and unique insights. ROYTEC students have the benefit of individual Consultation outside of normal lecture hours. All Faculty Members attend regular tertiary level teaching training and development programmes conducted by the Instructional Development Unit, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Quality Assurance
ROYTEC employs on a full-time basis, dedicated staff with assigned responsibility for the overall Quality Assurance function. ROYTEC is compliant with the rigorous systems of Registration and Recognition as prescribed by The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT), which ensures that our programmes and services meet the standards and governance requirements for the tertiary education sector. Our overseas partners (University of New Brunswick and Advocis) are also compliant with ACTT for quality assurance and annual reporting for Recognition of Transnational Qualifications such as the Bachelors in Business Administration, the Bachelor of Education, the Master of Education, and the Certified Financial Planner Education Programme. Further, ROYTEC assures the standards of its awards, and the awards issued by its overseas partners, through a common framework of regulations and an articulated policy on assessment which are kept under review and revision by an established Quality Assurance Committee and by the Academic Board of Examiners.
ROYTEC Student Council (RSC)
The ROYTEC Student Council (RSC) is a representative Committee for all students. Officers are democratically elected from the student body. All students are eligible for participating in elections. The authority of the RSC is derived from the students at ROYTEC and is collectively recognized by the Board of Directors, various Academic Committees and ROYTEC Administration. The objectives of the RSC are as follows:
- to serve the ROYTEC student body
- to represent the views of students to ROYTEC’s Administration
- to protect the rights of students
- to seek to improve the quality of life for every student at ROYTEC.
The RSC is committed to representing students at the decision-making level of the institution. This includes, for example, participation in Academic Committees such as: Quality Assurance Committee and the Student Complaints Committee.

All classrooms are equipped with Emergency Floor plans. Floor Wardens are appointed for each location and students are required to obey instructions in the event of Evacuation and Response to Natural Disasters (bomb threat, hurricane, earthquake, fire, emergencies declared by the state). In the event of a power outage, the back-up power supply is activated within two (2) minutes.
