UWI School of Business and Applied Studies Limited (trading as ROYTEC) is governed by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, as a private tertiary level education institution.  ROYTEC was launched in 1987 by RBTT Bank Limited to meet the education and development needs of employees in the financial services sector.  Since that time, we have developed the depth of experience, the faculty and the most relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in business administration, teacher education, information technology, and financial planning. We also offer corporate training programmes and management consultancy services aimed at improving immediate performance and long term results for individuals and organisations.  Such interventions include courses in supervision, customer service, project management, human resource management, real estate management, and marketing.  In keeping with our vision to support corporate sector competitiveness, we also conduct On-Site Training Seminars that help create the most effective and measurable learning experience.   

Over the years, thousands of professionals come to ROYTEC to learn new business competencies and to advance their careers.   Our approach to teaching and learning is collaborative and inclusive of our students and customers, and of the needs of all our stakeholders.  At ROYTEC, students are exposed to real-world topics and are mentored by experienced faculty members and business executives to devise practical solutions to the challenging and complex issues typically faced by organisational leaders. The ROYTEC experience also extends worldwide; we offer internationally recognised qualifications and study abroad opportunities through our partnership agreements with the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada, Monroe College, New York, USA, The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA), and The Association of Financial Advisors of Canada (Advocis) for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Education Programme.    All of our Transnational Programmes have successfully been evaluated and awarded full Recognition status by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT).  At ROYTEC, our undergraduate business students have the advantage of gaining transfer credits to the CGA professional accounting designation.
